Body Models

How must a diaphragm sit properly, how does the pill work, where are coils located, and where are their threads?

Two factors make it more difficult to have a clear picture of one’s own body: most anatomic depictions are flat, longitudinal cross-sections, and while this kind of view can be helpful for doctors, many lay people are unable to understand it. This is a frequent problem when medical professionals attempt to provide explanations.

Another difficulty involves opinions concerning what should be permitted in such a depiction in compliance with legal and moral criteria. For many years, depictions of the naked body were considered pornography and were for that reason illegal.

Our collection of depictions of the human body, models and moulages is of course limited to our field and includes a variety of academic and some ‘hands-on’ approaches.
